Battery blow out

Does anyone know if this weekends vendors will be bringing any fishfinder batteries? My new one just took a dump after charging for this weekend. Went into the garage this afternoon and was greeted with a verry formidable odor of sulfur with notes of burnt plastic- quickly found my new battery bulging and lightly steaming from the crack on top. so im planing to call Batteries Plus when i get off work this morning to find one to fit the pelican case.Would rather support a vendor at the jamboree (and save a trip to Mt.Laurel) if possible, so if any info is available please LMK.

The FF is wired to a quick connect pelican box which holds the batt.Called the mfr and its under warranty but it could be weeks so ill prob just go overpay for a spare to use this weekend.Can always use it for my mullet aerator intead of wiring directly to my truck battery.NBD

Not sure what the vendors will be bringing. Don from Kayak Angler Pro Shops will be bringing misc goodies. The best place to find fish finder batts is a fire alarm company. The older units all use 12v 7ah batts and are all being updated to 6v. So these places have a surplus of 12v's laying around. Kayak shops and companies have sent the prices on these batts through the roof. You can find these batts for $5 to $15 if you look around. Always store these batts fully charged and NOT on concrete.
