11-4 report

Went out last night/this morning. Picked up some fresh bunker on my way down and was on the water before midnight. Fished through the night behind Stone Harbor with only a big skate to show for my efforts. The tide turned and I set up on the hook. Just as the sun broke the horizon my reel began screaming and after a good fight I brought a 40" striper to the boat. This is my first striper on my kayak and fist in several years as I have been out of the area. I must say that it was beyond fun fighting this fish on the kayak. I had to paddle back in with it across my lap. Took it over to Jersey Tackle and it weighed in at 17#.

Here's something cool...Just before I got this fish I changed my bait as the noggin I had on was pretty flushed out. I put on a chunk and a about 20 minutes later I got my fish. As I was cleaning the fish I felt a hard lump in its stomach and found the noggin I had thrown over. I guess I could have kept it on after all.
