Bucktails, Bucktails, and oh yeah get a few Bucktails......LOL
I use an assortment of bucktails in white, pink and chartruesse as a go to for most trips. Lots of sinkers of various shapes and sizes. I seldom go over 6oz in backwater unless the tide is really ripping. Get plenty of circle hooks for live lining or chunking. I prefer Owner, but any brand will do. For troling, look at the tube and worms set up. Look at some of the single or double drop loop Tog rigs for the bridge pilings, jetties, and wrecks.
Most importantly, don't get rid of the freshwater stuff. When nothing else is working, I will still break out my Rat L traps and buzz bait. They don't work just as good as the rest of the gear when the bite shuts off, but it's still fun to chuck them around. I still love to throw plastics around the sod banks just as you would in a lake. Just switch up to a 6 or 7 inch YUM / Gulp worm and have at it.
I try to keep it simple and just have fun. Catching fish is a bonus!
Hope this helps
