Im trying to come up with a way to use my go pro at night you would think this would be fairly easy. Well its not here is a sample video shot at night .Keep in mind Im using a very bright wide angle dive light made for shooting video underwater its 5.5 watts 300 lumens and shines at a angle of 60 degrees. You cant tell in the video but this light, lights up my backyard better then my 100 watt flood

how wide is the light? Wide for a dive light or actually wide? The reason I ask is the shadow line looks very sharp. Hate to say it but if it really is a wide light beam the answer might be a different camera with an infra red light built in.

Well I got my second light today and just ran a test with the two lights. I'm not going to show the video here (when i build my new mount with the cam and two lights Ill run a new video test and post it).

Ill tell you what I have learned so far . 1st you can not have enough light, I have tried to defused the light it didn't work it widen the angle of light but also weaken it also. When I ran the test tonight with the 2 lights I had both beams of light shining in the same spot I still got the tunnel vision effect ( I THINK BECAUSE OF THE WIDE ANGLE LENS) When I tried to separate the beams of light so they would be side by side and in effect widen the light in the area. This just weaken the amount of light and the picture or the video suffered. I have had people here and on other sites come up with some pretty good ideas and have tried some too. Here is what I think is the bottom line the GO PRO needs so much light outside at night to work right!! Now there are things you can do like changing your lenses or putting a I R LENSE IN WITH I R LIGHTING I just cant get into all that right now. Ill be building a new mount soon and Ill post pics of it. And in less then 2 weeks Ill be night fishing for Bass, I also think that since ILL be filming so close on the kayak that I will be able to separate the beams of light and therefore broadcast over a wider area. So thats it guys thanks for hanging in there and for your ideas.
