Growing up on the southern New Jersey coast, I have been an avid angler all my life.
By the age of 15, I was supplying local bait shops with fresh and live bait and
I continue to do so today. My time on the water and my knowledge of bait and feeding
patterns has paid off in competition and has earned me the nickname “Fish Whisperer”
among the local surf and jetty anglers.
I was introduced to kayak fishing when my local dealer explained how much the kayak
would improve my days out on the water.
I have found a unique camaraderie among kayakers and kayak tournament anglers.
These days, I fish the NJ sod banks, jetties and the open ocean from Stone Harbor to
Cape May approx 3 days a week from my '09 Hobie Outback I named “My Island”. I also
fish as many tournaments as I can from Jax to Salem and all points between!
In 2008/2009 I fished on the Hobie Fishing Team and Sterling Harbor Kayak Fishing Team.
For me, this was a great time. Thank you both!
Lately, I have been working with Kayak Fishing Magazine and have learned alot about
the sport through the experience. A true kayak fishing information entity. I serve as
moderator in the forums and currently organize and report on tournaments and events.
This year I have co-founded Jersey Cape Kayak Fishing with Charlie LaBar (LUNCHBOX)
and also The JCKF Cape May Kayak Fishing Tournament for Charity held in October.
Fish Whisperer Guide Service has also been born. Both kayak fishing and kayak birding
are available throughout Cape May County.
I enjoy introducing others to the sport and have assisted in many clinics, workshops
and demo’s like the State of New Jersey, BOW program which offers women the opportunity
to learn new outdoor skills and enhance their appreciation of the outdoors.
