Fished behind Stone Harbor this morning. Trolled a bit before dawn - no takers. Went to the bridge during slack tide - I could not get green crabs so I used frozen sand fleas (yuk!) Even with the mushy sand fleas I had drop and reel action on mostly throwbacks until I ran out of bait. Biggest was only 15". As the tide came in I went looking for stripers but found only small bluefish. I threw topwater and jigs/ I did not have any bait. I still have a lot to learn about back back striper fishing. Hopefully my next time out I can get out with some of you experienced anglers and learn a little something.
It was a beautiful day though and I took some time to work on my paddling some more so that was cool.

Always nice to get out!! I was stuck at work. You'll learn more each time you head out, I know I do, mostly by trial and error. Every now and then I figure out what works.
