The Greater Philadelphia Outdoor Sportshow to open in 2010

The American Sportfishing Association (ASA) is pleased to announce
the addition of a fourth show to its East Coast-based fishing, hunting
and outdoor consumer show roster. The Greater Philadelphia Outdoor
Sportshow will take place February 25-28, 2010, at the
Greater Philadelphia Expo Center at Oaks.

The new show will serve the millions of fishing, hunting and outdoor
sports enthusiasts who live in the Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware
region who collectively spend over $3.9 billion in pursuit of fish or game
each year. The Suburban Philadelphia Market has not had a venue capable
of housing a large-venue sports show since 2006 when the
Fort Washington Exposition center closed.

Sportshow will take place February 25-28, 2010

Thursday & Friday .....12:30pm to 9pm
Saturday .......................10am to 7pm
Sunday .........................10am to 5pm

I was planning on going to that show early on Sat. Is it cool if I crash your party?

Honestly 2xs, that's what this board is all about. All posts are
open to all members.

My plans have changed and I will be going up on Friday instead.
Feel free to meet up with me then or the guys on Saturday.

My wife and I made it to the Expo Center on Friday Night.
This was a good show that covered all things outdoors; Hunting,
fishing, boating, camping, clothing, snowmobiles, ATV's, tractors,
charter captains & guide services, fish & wildlife taxidermists,
On the Water Magazine, New Jersey Angler Magazine, The Fisherman,
a trout pond holding fishing derby's for the little ones, water jumping
dogs, and even Brody the Kodiac Bear, car dealerships, and almost
every Rod & Reel manufacturer only to name a FEW!

Oddly & disappointingly though, not a single kayak manufacturer
or dealer anywhere! Absolutely nothing kayak specific!

Admission was $10.00 and there was plenty of free parking. Dispite
the snow storm, the roadways are clear and dry.

A real standout for me was Charlie Williams of Outdoor Etc. who
also serves as a rep for BW Sports among other companies.
Charlie carries a wide selection of surf & fly fishing items and

Check out his hat lights. Same $10.00 price as the dept store ones
that we all buy, but twice as bright! The pic is of the green light, however
I would recommend the red. Also, check out the tackle
binders. These are exactly what we need on our yaks. Ziplock packs
that are water tight and attached to the binder with velcro for easy
use.

Did anyone else make the show?

I wasn't able to make there...work stuff came up. How about the Jersey Paddler show 3/26 thru 3/28? I will definitely be headin up to that one.

I think I'll have to do that one. Maybe we can
set up some kind of meetup as the show gets
closer.
