Finally a decent evening! With lingering clouds from a day of rain, the evening was prime for a dorothea hatch. There were also a few deficiens (blue wing olives) and isonychia (slate drakes) hatching. There was a good number of fish on the bugs but most of them were too picky after a long season of staring at every possible pattern in existence. I still managed to get an 18", 16", and 12" brown all on isonychia duns. I worked a 20" or bigger brown for about 1/2 an hour but he was tooo stubborn. Everyone else I talked to out on the river got skunked. I guess I was lucky to find three hungry fish!
