Launched at AM high tide just before sun up. No action until tide started to go out. Drifting was tough as the "predicted" 7 mph wind was blowing against the tide. Wind felt more like 15 once on the water. Had to pedal all the time just to keep a drift going.
Ton of bait stealers and nice size crab. (May have to bring the hand lines next trip). Dropped to a 1/O hook to see what was stealing the bait. Found the area loaded with spot
Had several short fluke and a few 10" weekies by 9:30 am. All of the action was on clam strips. No takers on Gulp or mackeral. A thick fog rolled in around 10am and by 11:30 started to rain. Just finished loading the kayak on the car when the downpour came.
Stopped by The Kayak Store on the way out to find Chris launching kayaks in the pouring rain. Chris, I will bring an unbrella for the golf cart the next time I am down.
Even though the day was cut short due to weather, ended up with a 22" Fluke for dinner. All in all a good day and will try again later in the week.
