de winterized the porto condo , , checked the plumbing , electric , etc ,, gave her a bath , , got rid of the winter crud, , filled the tank with water , new propane lines,, got new propane tanks ,, now just shoping and wash and im a go for thurs morning

Toys are coming in every day. I got 3 new Penn Battle 4000 reels in today and sold em all. They are really cool!

Hey Chris, I got a Penn Battle 4000 last year, used it quite a bit and am really happy with it.
The first real test with it was fluking, but that day besides a bunch of fluke I hooked and landed 5 Cow Nose Rays with it. As ya all know those things put on some powerful runs.The reel performed flawlessly.
I did take it apart when I got it and re-grease it, also put Cal's grease on the drag.
I'm using Suffix 20lb braid on it, with a 7ft St.Croix Tidemaster.
No issues so far.

That's good to know Rich. I was one of the guys to buy a reel today. LOL. Now that they screwed up the Bait Runners and Penn came back to America, I thought I should take another look at them. I plan to stock the 3000 and 4000. Thank you for report on them. Rays can smoke a cheaper reel in no time flat!

I've had a battle 4000 for a year or so, and taking decent care of it, it has held up and performed perfectly. I think the only vice is they are a little heavy, in a tank like way. A great reel at the price IMO.

Blew the gears out while at Jbay.
I wasn't even catching with it, just casting.
I have contacted Penn, and they told me to send it in under full warranty.
I will update with the results.

Ok, back to Jbay.
As usual we had a great time at the Wolfpack, tons of food, more laughs then anyone should have in a couple of days, a few adult beverages, and even caught some fish.
The weather was absolutely beautiful, except for the wind that came up on Friday afternoon. Can't have Jbay without one blow out.
My mission this year was for my son to catch his first Bass and Bluefish, Mission Accomplished !!!
