Last time anyone posted was on August 8th! Really???

| tmtfield and i were able to wet some lines 9/1/2012 drfiting the WWcrest/CM inlet during the early tides. All sorts of seabass and one fluonder (all shorts). nothing was picture worthy , but also a ton of short strikes on GULP. Good times, even though there was a lot of not so nice boat traffic. As always be safe and tight lines!!! Walker | |

| For me down in the Barnegat area, it's been mostly little stuff lately. Tons of kings, croakers, blowfish and spots. The fluking in the bay here has been spotty at best. Hard to find keepers. I did hear of a couple schoolie stripers lurking around near the sod banks in Mystic Island, no confirmation on that yet though... | |

| There are still some keeper fluke in the Manasquan, but its becoming a pick. Spike weakfish showed up, got a half dozen to 13". Gary got one about 16". Nothing exciting, but they were my first in 3 years! Rumors of huge blues running the point pleasant canal, working on confirming that one. So many panfish inside I think I may have to take a second mortgage to pay for gulp! Tog should start showing up on inshore structure, haven't tried em in a month or so. Keep the reports coming! | |

| I'm game for an outing too, lets set something up...
Hey Yaknfool- try using those fishbytes instead of gulp- they work great and they are hard for them little bastages to get off the hook so they last a bit longer...

| Thanks guys!!
Yes Tim - is about time for another outing but now my wife has me on a short-leash enforcing the "honey-do" inequities!!! I think I'm screwed!
I've also had conversations with a couple of anglers who are catching good sized weaks (up to 22") bay side Sandy Hook. Chart gulp is the bait of choice.

Hmmm, You got me thinking SeaFlea and nothing good can come from that. Honey-do inequities on one hand, weakies at the hook on the other; that's a tough one. I've never fished that far north before. I think I may do a little recon mission this weekend.

| Tim, if you do get up there, launch out of Horseshoe Cove. The fishing has been up around the Coast Guard station... Take a look a Google to get your bearings. Fishing has been good for the weak of mouth for three weeks now... Hopefully you can find them. I'll ask around and see if I can find some "labdmarks" and fire off a PM to ya. Man, I hope you find 'em & catch a couple!! Best of luck to ya if ya do get out!!! Chal | |

| My follicly impaired friend alerted me to some interest in a Sandy Hook trip by some of youse pine dwellers I've fished da hook for a while, even caught a few now and then Let me know what day you want to meet up, I'll be more than happy to show ya'll around up here. Lately it's been weaks up to the low 20's", some porgies and king fish, and a few fluke, small blues. Getting em on fluke rigs with a teaser, tipped with gulp. Some guys are getting em on plastics, and I've been known to throw an Ava. Let's firm up a date, sat or sun is ok with me. Weather looks good so far, but as we know that can change. High tide is around 8am this weekend. | |

| Herder, That's a mighty generous offer and this here piney would definitely be up for meeting ya up there in Yankee land either morning. It looks like a better weather window on Sunday but I'm game for either day. Tim? Walker? Are you guys down with that? | |

| This should bring you to the parking area. 40.448978,-73.997899 Google Maps. Grab a pass at the first booth when you enter the park. Just stay straight on the road past the next ranger booth. You'll pass a sign that says Horseshoe Cove, go past that a bit, on the right side is the entrance to a small parking area, there is a cross walk there. On the left there is a clearing with a path to the launching area. You'll need a cart, but most of the way is on hard pack sand, just a little bit on sand to the bay. Total trip should be 5-6 miles. See ya at 6am Saturday. Any other questions, ask away, I'll try and answer after 6 pm Friday, been way too busy at work, but I'll try and check in. If you get off the Parkway at 117 and take rt.36, DO NOT GO OVER THE SPEED LIMIT ON 36. Most of it is posted at 50, but when you get near the hook in Highlands it drops to 35mph. You were warned!!!

| Well, as usual the weather report keeps changing. Here is the NOAA report for NY Harbour: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]Tonight: S winds 5 to 10 kt...becoming NW late. Waves 1 ft or less. Sat: NW winds 10 to 15 kt. Waves 1 ft or less. Sat Night: N winds 5 to 10 kt. Waves 1 ft or less. Sun: NW winds 5 to 10 kt. Waves 1 ft or less. Here's a real time link for Sandy Hook: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]10-15 out the NW is starting to push the limit, but is definitely doable as long as your comfortable in your ability. | |
