| Met up with Clamboni and Open Water Kayaker at 6:30pm and fished the area near the BP power plant until 11pm. Those two were still going strong when I left. It was my first launch of the year and I had a blast! Thank you Clamboni for showing me around. It's always cool to fish new areas. Also cool to put faces with screen names. I managed one bass 21.5" on a bucktail. Not a keeper, but it scores on Kayak Wars! It was cool to pick one up on day 1. This fish also proves a big point; If Yakman stays home, the fish will eat! Lot's of cool water lazy hits and small bumps too. I'm pretty sure the area was loaded with herring, but we weren't able to catch any. Even with the Sabiki's. | Congrats Chris, batting 1000. I finally landed some bass (2) at oyster creek. One was 21 and when I got home the memory card had some problem. Annoying because I checked everything out weeks back. If I had caught more and lost the pics I'd be sick. I'll try to replace him tomorrow AM. How did the other guys do? | |

| Hey Chris, the first one can't come fast enough. It's "ON" now, the striper chase has started. Great you guys had a good night. I get off work and they are calling for rain, I had a trip with clamboni last year and it rained like hell, so I can't use rain for a excuse. See you guys soon. Tom | |

| Thanks guys. I really was nice to get the winter skunk feel off, even if it was a lil guy! Larry, I haven't heard from the other guys yet. They were still getting hits as I was heading in. I hope they got into them good. Tom, we should keep an eye on the weather and get out soon. | |

| [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Jim lasted til about midnight, I wanted to keep going but couldn't make up my mind on where to go. Ended up doing recon for a couple hours in that area and found a new spot to launch.....has a very interesting spot nearby, we'll see about it later in the spring. I fished a couple more hours after that, marked tons and tons of fish but only marked them. Tough night. Water was really clear already though. | |

| I went back to where I had the fish Saturday (Marks from top to bottom) and found nada....open water fishing is tough sometimes...I woulda bet 50bucks I'd a caught....my water temp dropped from Saturday, and the wind changed direction, and I fished the low not the high....but that was the time I had ....I'll bet the power boast will be out this weekend... | |

| I went back to oyster creek mon morning. Got two more schoolies by a dock light. One measured for KW-this one got logged on.The water temp dropped a little, but I suspect the cold night air was responsible- my transducer is exposed in my SIK. The water temp at the mantoloking bridge was 47 F yesterday, a guy there had landed a few flounder. They were thrown back, but he said one was 13". Looks promising for the opener on wed. I think after the warm weather thats forcasted for the next few days the fishing is gonna explode | |
