We travel up and down the coast like mad men for these events. As the
event dates approach, we will post a roll call for everyone to post to. We use
the roll call to coordinate travel and lodging plans between those that are
planning to make the trip to each event.
Wagon trains- We use the Parkway or 95 most of the time. If people plan
to camp or travel together, add your locale to your roll call post. This way
stops will be planned and we can all hop in line.
Lodging- We have found camping to be a good way to go. Leaving your gear
on your truck overnight at a motel sucks and KAYAKS DO NOT FIT IN ELEVATORS.
Yes, I've tried! Roll call allows us to get a head count and to apply for a group
rate at a campground. Don't sweat the thought of roughing it. We have laptop
movies, generators, cooktops, radios, huge coolers and we even have our own seperate
kitchen tent.
Pre-Fishing- Most Captains Meetings are mandatory and will be held the night prior
to any event. It's a good idea (if possible) to pre-fish at least 1 day prior to the
event to feel things out a bit. It's tough with some work schedules though.
