| Looks like they're ready to roll. I'll be talking to them later today and find out for sure. I'll be covering the tournament this year for KFM, so I'll see what I can find out for us. | |

1. Kayak Man Gold Points - These are different then your submission points. Gold points are obtained by achieving various accomplishments or accolades. They are also random reward points given out by KW organizers. At the end of the year all KMGP (Kayak Man Gold Points) are thrown together for a 'raffle'. Each KMGP will earn you one raffle ticket. We will be giving away MANY killer prizes, strictly relating to these points.
2. Single Day Slams - 1 KMGP is awarded for a single day slam in your region. A slam is earned by catching 3 different species in a single day. However, each slam must consist of your regional species and order listed below. Only one KMGP can be earned per day per slam. For example, you can earn a slam for catching a trout, red and snook in the same day. If you catch another trout, red and snook in that same day you will not earn another KMGP. However, if you catch a tarpon the same day, you will earn another KMGP because you will have a "different" slam scored for a trout, tarpon and snook.
South-East and South-Central Region Slams - Red Drum | Speckled Trout | Flounder - Red Drum | Speckled Trout | Snook - Red Drum | Tarpon | Snook - Snapper | King Mackerel | Grouper - Snapper | King Mackerel | Cobia - Snapper | King Mackerel | Shark
North-East Region Slams - Red Drum | Speckled Trout | Summer Flounder / Fluke - Red Drum | Striper | Summer Flounder / Fluke - Weakfish | Striper | Summer Flounder / Fluke - Weakfish | Tautog | Summer Flounder / Fluke - Weakfish | Bluefish | Summer Flounder / Fluke - Striper | Bluefish | Summer Flounder / Fluke - Red Drum | Black Drum | Cobia
3. 50 Fish Milestones - 1 KMGP is awarded for every 50 fish submitted by that angler.
4. Species Milestones - 1 KMGP is awarded for catching 5 different species of fish for the year. For each additional species the angler is awarded 1 KMGP up to 10 species. Once the angler has caught 10 different species, 2 KMGP's are awarded for each additional species. For example, an Angler who has caught 15 different species for the year would earn 15 KMGP's.
5. Kayak Wars Records - 5 KMGP are awarded for breaking an existing Kayak Wars Record for your region (only for South-Central and South-East regions) The only exception to this rule is new species such as Sheepshead and Jack Crevalle. 5 KMGP's will be awarded at the end of the year if you hold the record for new species. If you currently have 5 KMGP's for a new species, and someone beats your current record you will lose those 5 points ( Only for New Species ). For the North-East, South-West and North-West regions, 5 KMGP will be awarded to the angler that holds the record at the end of the year.
6. Random Awards - Kayak Man Gold points may be given to anglers in which random contests are organized... For example ( on March 1st, anyone who catches at least one Red Drum on that day will be awarded a KMGP) In cases like this there would be a small 'prop/color theme' which would have to be present in the picture to qualify, and would only be let known on the day before for that particular daily contest, via the forum.
Kayak Man Gold points are also awarded randomly through accomplishments that might not meet the previous requirements... such as an epic fish catch etc... which will be given at the discretion of the KW Organizers/or voted on by multiple opposing anglers. This may also be the case for an out of this world photo that is submitted.
CHEATING in anyway within Kayak Wars is not acceptable. Anyone intentionally caught cheating WILL be banned if deemed proper by KW Officials. If you HAVE UNDENIABLE PROOF and report the act of cheating by another angler, which results in proper action taken against the accused, then that individual (the first one who contacts us) WILL be awarded one (1) Kayak Man Gold Point. For this to be considered, you MUST have 100% proof and cannot just 'suspect' someone of suspicious behavior.
7. Gold Points can be seen on the Angler Profile Page for that Angler as shown below...

| Does anyone know if the freshwater fish will be counted with the saltwater for the gold points for species? Stripers dropped to 15 points-ouch!! Thats going to make it hard for the northeast to keep up with the other regions. That will be especially hard on the 'bass heavy' KFA teams-maybe we can hang with them this year. At least tog jumped to 20 points. Oh yea, and Nessie (weakfish) are 30. I'm sure we'll bail them-I barely remember what they look like. Looking at 10 day forecast....depressing. | |
