Chesapeake Bay Kayak Anglers Fishing Tournament - September 10th 2011

When: September 9th Captains Meeting and Camping, September 10th first light – 3:30 fishing with raffle and awards afterwards, September 11th rain date backup


Where: Camp Wright – Kent Island, MD

What: Catch-Photo-Release tournament targeting Rockfish, Bluefish, and White Perch

Who: Tournament is hosted by the Chesapeake Bay Kayak Anglers, all are welcome, see official rules for more details


How: Any hook and line method as permitted by MD DNR.

On Saturday, September 10, 2011, the first annual Chesapeake Bay Kayak Anglers (CBKA) Fishing Tournament will launch from Camp Wright located on Kent Island, Maryland. In the event of inclement weather the tournament will be moved to Sunday morning. CBKA Inc, a non-profit organization, was started by a group of enthusiastic kayak fishermen who are ready to share the sport with all who are interested. Our mission is to support charities and promote the conservation of the Chesapeake Bay through kayak fishing.



The 2011 tournament will benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of the Mid-Atlantic. $15 of every registration fee and additional sponsor donations will benefit the Foundation. In addition, a kayak fishing raffle will be held benefitting the Coastal Conservation Association of Maryland. As part of your $50 entry fee you will have the option of tenting at Camp Wright on Friday and Saturday night. There will also be cabins that sleep 8 people available for an additional fee. Registration will be opening soon and the first 25 will receive a captains bag with items from Hobie and various other kayak fishing equipment! I hope to see some of you Jersey guys there!

Might be able to do this one ,it is my weekend off but I'm am going to check it out tonight. Might be able to get a couple other guys also.
The time of year for this may be slim pickings with smaller fish down there,but I'm sure it will be a good time.Had a vacation down on Eastern Shore a few years back and all small dinks of stripers but plenty of them, but those white perch are my favorite eating fish around a campfire.
